Er...why House? You should've used Scrubs.

I don't watch "Scrubs", and that was a comedy, anyways, so I'm not too sure if it had any ACTUAL inappropriate things on there. House, on the other hand, even though I don't watch it currently, I had watched it in the past, so I would know what I am talking about in regards to House.

In our fan mindsets, we wouldn't like to know.

Hey, If he actually did something inappropriate, I wouldn't want to know either.

The audience, the general audience if you're implying, to children...?

You know, I think that if the Parents pretty much tell their kids that they DIDN'T like how it did this, I think that the child would pick it up and basically integrate it into their mindset. I know this because I was one of those kids. And my mom was pretty angry at how they portrayed women in princess vs. princess when we first saw it, going as far as to say she didn't like how women were portrayed in that episode. I mean, YES, I know that you guys think that it was a gag in the episode, but it still never seemed funny to me, my family, and to anyone around my area. As a matter of fact, the James' Inflates was also meant to be a gag as well, and yet, that led the episode to being banned.

Uh...yes it does! But fanservice isn't the main issue here! It's not supposed to dominate in keeping up with the zest in the show.

even if it ISN'T a main issue in the anime, it is still a very prevalent thing (I know the original series had stuff like this, but then again, AG and DP's stuff are actually More Fanservicey [and frankly, dirtier] than Season 1's "fanservice")

Speaking of Season 1 fanservice (Mostly Misty's "Fanservice"), I can sort of understand the "towel scene", but stuff like the Mermaid outfit, the Bikinis, and the Goldeen outfit, I can't really say is ACTUAL fanservice.

lets start off with the whole Mermaid outfit. I kinda brought this point up before, but since apparantly someone did not thoroughly read it (Yes, Scott/Cyber, I'm referring to you), I'll state it again.

In the Disney film "The Little Mermaid", there was a mermaid by the name of Ariel. she wore pretty much the same outfit as Misty did on a few occasions. Now, I don't recall any of you on this forum or anyone in the entire globe (save for MAYBE Michael O'Brien) ACTUALLY calling her design pure fanservice. If you guys didn't count Ariel's figure as fanservice, then you shouldn't count Misty's Mermaid Outfit as fanservice either, since it is the same thing. In case you don't know what I mean, look here:

and here:

As you see here, everyone, Misty's Mermaid outfit is extremely similar to Ariel, and the last time I checked, Ariel was very rarely counted as fanservice, if at all. Put two and two together, and that means that Misty's Mermaid Outfit is NOT Fanservice.

Next, the bikinis: Now, overall, Misty has actually spent less time in a bikini time-wise than May (I mean, yes, She did have quite a few episodes where she was in a bikini, but those were "Blink and you'll miss it" scenes anyways.), not to mention she also never spent ANY time in ANY of her Movies in a Bikini or any bathing suit (Unlike May who had quite literally spent 3/4ths of her movies in a Bikini at some point or another, and had a bikini on for far MORE than a few seconds.).

Well, for how I can't really see it as fanservice, well, most of the time when she Is wearing a bikini, she is somewhere that pretty much allows it (Like a Beach, or a lake/spring, for example.), and besides which, the bikini's she usually wears are moderately tasteful unlike a certain kind of Bikini that exposes the wearers... well, you know. And anyways, with stuff like her wearing a bikini during Ash and Samurai's match, I'm not sure if that should be taken as canon since the scene after that, she is wearing her regular clothes again, and besides, it's not like females in some neighborhoods don't tan themselves on their own lawns. Now, if Misty was naked in any of the beach episodes or in that scene at the Viridian Forest (and not only that, but she seems to show some glee in terms of it) or wearing something FAR more risque than the bikini that she's wearing (something along the lines of the Venus swimwear from "DOA: Xtreme Beach Volleyball")... Then yes, that does qualify as fanservice.

Now, the Goldeen outfit, I don't really see how provocative it is besides it being a stylized version of a one-piece bathing suit. Besides, she made it quite clear that she was only wearing it because she promised Melvin she would help him in his act, and not because she enjoyed it (Now if Dawn or even May were placed in that same position, I would reconsider, considering that they actually seemed to want to do such scandalous things [Many of Dawn's fetish outfits such as the Maid, and May stripping on the beach with glee comes to mind].).

speaking of the Beach strip, I know that May Might have had a Bikini underneath, but, I can't say it's a given. for all we knew, May could have completely stripped down (meaning she was completely you-know-what) and put on the bikini and threw the clothes down afterwards, AND THEN we saw her in the bikini. Not that I wanted it to happen, since I feel that the whole "Beach Strip" thing was Bad enough and seems far too similar to... well, a certain harem anime (like, you know, LH).

I mean, Misty never did that onscreen (especially in front of company) and the Viridian forest scene doesn't count since 1. she was seen in her regular clothes right afterwards, thus making the entire scene's canonicity debatable, and 2. it wasn't even close to the kind of "On-screen stripping" that we saw of May, where we saw her clothes flying.
